Our second annual members only show at 1132 Bishop St. from March 26 through May 6, 2011. The following members had paintings in the show: Christine Ahia, Candace Fenander, Norman Foster, Marijana Gregl Bikar, Helen Iaea, Jack Kinkelaar, Fong Ling, Michael Nakama, Ann Peters, Sunny Seal, Nancy Skelsey, Wayne Takazono, Helen Turner, Lynn Wiley and Kathy Yokouchi
The reception was held on First Friday, April 1. Wayne Takazono and Candace Fenander brought the refreshments, which were provided through the entry fees. The fees also paid for the catalog printing. Although the turnout for our reception was minimal, it was a very enjoyable evening.
The People's Choice Award, a Hawaiian Graphics gift certificate, went to Wayne Takazono's "Self Portrait - View from a Mirror", (shown above) which graced the entrance to the show. We have had many positive comments about our show and specifically Wayne's painting! While there are only 15 of our 53 members (28% of our total membership) in the show, we are pleased that four of the artists are members who are not on O'ahu - one is even out-of-state! There are a total of 27 paintings in this show. Quite a reduction from last year's 41 paintings from 19 artists. We hope that next year, there will be a better turn out of artists. Please show your support for PAH and those who put in their time and effort for the society by participating in our events. Your participation is a reflection of appreciation.
